Communities
TestNet strives to professionalize the testing of IT products and increase awareness and the importance of testing as expertise. TestNet encourages the exchange and dissemination of professional knowledge and experience between colleagues and stimulates research from both a scientific and practical perspective.
An all-encompassing community that embraces individuals of every gender, dedicated to forging an inclusive, diverse, and equitable tech world. We are steadfast in our mission to promote gender equality and diversity in tech organizations by highlighting role models, organizing community-connecting events such as conferences, mentoring sessions, workshops and dinners and encouraging tech organizations to embrace diversity to realize a more sustainable future.
Our Mission at Women Who Test
Women Who Test allows women to share ideas and solutions while helping each other thrive and advance in their careers. WWT features speakers and topics at our events that are designed to inspire, teach, and motivate.
We are Dutch Women in Tech (DWIT), a platform for and by women in technology. This initiative was set up by IT service provider Tredion. Several partners have now joined the platform. At DWIT we focus on women in IT. We want to give women in tech a platform to share their stories. In this way we also want to inspire other women to choose a career in IT.
MINIMISE CARBON
The Foundation’s mission is to reduce the total change in global carbon emissions associated with software. When evaluating choices we choose the option that advocates for abatement (reducing emissions) not neutralisation (offsetting emissions).
Mission of Testcommunity.nu: In the testing community, members strengthen each other’s professional social skills.
TestCommunity.nu:
– contributes to the personal development of its members
– helps its members strengthen communication and strategic skills
– motivates and supports its members to take new steps in personal leadership
Technology has an enormous impact on our lives and on society. Yet the diversity of its inventors and makers is very limited, only 16% of technical and IT professionals in the Netherlands are women.
VHTO approach
That is why VHTO is committed to increasing the participation of girls and women in science, technology and IT. Fix the system, not the girls is the starting point of our multi-year strategy. We offer interventions, based on science, in education, for employers and society.
More women in science, technology and IT are desirable, because a technology sector that reflects society offers:
– equality of opportunity for girls and women;
– economic opportunities for our society;
– better technologies for our society.

Title: Unlocking the Power of Low code: Speed with caution
Low code, the pathway to simplified and swift software development, holds immense potential for enhancing value in your projects. However, with numerous platforms, techniques, and best practices available, it becomes crucial to harness the power of low code effectively. Similar to driving a car, while speed can be exhilarating, caution is essential.
Join me as I explore the advantages and considerations of low code through real-world examples and personal experiences. Discover where to begin your low code journey, gain insights into best practices, and determine if low code is the right fit for you and your organization.
Title: It’s not easy being green!
In our daily private life, we know the small steps to reduce our carbon footprint: wear an extra sweater in winter, separate our waste, recycle our used products, not use a car if it isn’t strictly necessary, etc.
We can take similar small steps in software development to create a better environment. In my talk, I will first raise awareness: what is the size of the carbon footprint in software development, what’s the impact now and in the future, and how can we measure that and make it visible?
As a test consultant, I am aware that not only the functional aspects of an application are important subjects that must be tested, but also a set of non-functional. In my talk, I want to argue that it is environmentally necessary to consider carbon footprint creation as a non-functional requirement when performing a product risk analysis.
Furthermore, I will present valuable tools a software tester can use to indicate its carbon footprint. I will also offer simple but valuable tips to help reduce the carbon footprint when creating software solutions.
Important note: for every conference I update this talk with new research information!

Title: Quality assurance in Low-Code. Good? Or Good!
Simple, fast, cheap and good, that’s the philosophy of a low-code platform. As long as you stick to the low-code library of building blocks, those promises can be met. Customization, however, introduces risks. How can you guarantee that the application still has the quality that was promised? To meet up with the ‘simple, fast, cheap and good’, your test automation must also be simple, fast, cheap and good.

Low Code: Business Perspectives And Innovations Discussion panel
Discussions on several subjects: Professional developers use low-code to deliver functionalities quicker, and so, they have more time for traditional development of complex features with more value for the organization. Citizen developers working in business roles understand the needs and the rules of business. Building in low-code enables them to anticipate on and react to developments in the market. Also, in the business market, low code citizen developers help to overcome the problematic shortage of skilled developers.

Title: Low-Code and QA: “Hit them where it hurts!”
What is the value of software testing? Testing costs money: hours spent, test tooling, etc. How do we know that this money is well spent? A quality consultant needs to show the decision makers the costs of bad testing and the importance of good test quality.
